The University of Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah and the Association ?Medistone Maroc? organize from 29 to March 31, 2013, at the Palais des Congr?s in Fez the First International colloquium on the Amazigh Moorish Heritage of ancient Morocco.

Colloque sur la Patrimoine Maure copieUnder the theme ?Moorish Heritage in Morocco?, the National Institute of Sciences of Archaeology and Heritage (INSAP), the University of Moulay Smail, the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture (IRCAM) and the Association of Friends of Volubilis, propose to complete the study of this cultural facet in other Moroccan ancient sites.

This conference will take place in collaboration also with the Regional Directorate of Culture of Fes-Boulemane and the support of the Embassy of France in Rabat and Association of Mountain People of the World in Sefrou (APMM).

Among the objectives set by the colloquium are: promote the ancient sites of Morocco, shed light on the history of the pre-Roman period, establish review of recent research on the Moorish period and set up research perspectives on archaeology and the Moorish history.

Morocco is in need of such colloquiums and other cultural events to highlight the Moroccan culture and bring to the surface its archaeological sites for more understanding of the country?s history.
