Co-Chairs Appointed to Business Sector Partnership Board ...

Joanna Straub, Executive Director of Nonprofit Westchester, and Brian Skanes, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester and Board Member, Nonprofit Westchester, have been appointed co-chairs of the Not-For-Profit Business Sector Partnership of the Westchester-Putnam Workforce Investment Board (WPWIB).?

Straub and Skanes will work together to provide assistance in employee recruitment and financial resources for training and worker retention programs.?

?According to a 2011 study by the Wilson Center at Pace University, nonprofits employ nearly 100,000 people in Westchester ? about 20% of the labor force,? said Straub.? ?This new initiative gives nonprofit businesses opportunities to connect with qualified candidates for open positions and to strengthen the skills of their existing employees through training.?

?Skilled employees are key to furthering the missions of these organizations,? said Skanes.
